GAVIN RAIN
April 2024
Bugno Art Gallery is pleased to introduce the latest production of Gavin Rain (Cape Town 1971). Gavin is believed to be one of the greatest contemporary representatives of neo-pointillism or pixelism. Using acrylic like a TV or PC screen, Rain creates his images using simulated pixels. Hence the technique called “hidden in plain sight”. At a close distance, Rain’s paintings appear to be an abstract and punctiform set of colors, but if the spectator moves away, up to a certain distance calculated by the artist, he can then see the subject of the painting: the faces of international showbiz icons.

Historical archives
The archives of Mario Deluigi and Armando Pizzinato
Bugno Art Gallery hosts the archives of two artists born in the first decade of the twentieth century: Armando Pizzinato (1910) and Mario Deluigi (1901). The first one was from Maniago, the second from Treviso; the two artists made close connections with the city of Venice, taking part in the major artistic movements of the time: Pizzinato joined the Front of the New Arts and then he moved on to social realism, while Deluigi signed the Manifesto of the space art, founded by Lucio Fontana and then the Space Movement Manifesto for television.
